Im Herbst 2025 begann in Fort Worth (Texas) eine außergewöhnliche Friedensaktion, die Menschen quer durch die Vereinigten Staaten bewegte – nicht in Reden oder Demonstrationen, sondern in ruhigen, achtsamen Schritten. Eine Gruppe buddhistischer Mönche machte sich zu Fuß auf den Weg nach Washington, D.C., um eine Botschaft der Achtsamkeit, des Mitgefühls und der inneren Ruhe zu verbreiten. Der Weg selbst – mehr als nur eine Strecke Der „Walk for Peace“ – begann am 26. Oktober 2025. Rund zwei Dutzend Theravāda-Mönche vom Hương Đạo Vipassana Bhavana Center in Fort Worth setzten sich zu einer Pilgerreise von etwa 2.300 Meilen (ca. 3.700 km) in Bewegung, die sie durch Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, Maryland und schließlich zur US-Hauptstadt führte.
